Dr. Sarina Tekwani Phatak is a board-certified Internal Medicine and primary care physician with more than 20 years of clinical experience. A Certified Medical Director and one of only a few Certified Cardiometabolic Health Providers in the St. Louis region, she brings a focused, science-backed approach to improving wellness, preventing disease, and extending healthspan.
Dr. Sarina’s medical expertise includes hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, thyroid and pulmonary conditions, neurologic and musculoskeletal disorders, and a wide array of chronic and complex conditions. Her care philosophy centers on building strong, trusted doctor-patient relationships and empowering individuals through lifestyle-focused, evidence-based interventions to reduce inflammation and improve long-term outcomes.
In recent years, Dr. Sarina transitioned her practice into concierge medicine at Evora Women’s Health to provide a more individualized, attentive approach to patient care. This model allows her to spend more time with each patient, tailor preventive strategies, and truly partner in optimizing health and wellness.
A St. Louis native, Dr. Sarina completed both her B.A. in Biology and M.D. at the University of Missouri–Kansas City through its accelerated six-year BA/MD program. She went on to complete a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at St. Louis University and Cardinal Glennon, followed by a Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at SLU.
She has served as a hospitalist at SSM St. Clare Hospital and led a private practice focused on comprehensive and compassionate care. She also provides care for the aging population as a medical director for long-term care and assisted living facilities, and continues to devote part of her work to hospice care, helping patients and families navigate end-of-life transitions with dignity and empathy.
Dr. Sarina is an active community leader, has volunteered and served on the board of KEEN St. Louis to provide adaptive fitness programs for children with physical and intellectual disabilities. As a speaker and educator, she leads group sessions and public talks on topics such as immune health, chronic disease prevention, and nervous system regulation—addressing how stress and neurological balance play a vital role in whole-person health.
Guided by the belief that “we all start somewhere—the important thing is to keep moving ahead,” Dr. Sarina continues to be a trusted advocate for personalized, proactive, and compassionate medical care.
