Tara Ramachandra, MD is a double board-certified facial plastic and otolaryngology (ENT) surgeon specializing in both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face. She offers a full spectrum of facial surgery—from blepharoplasty and rhinoplasty to advanced reconstruction following skin cancer. She is particularly known for her expertise in post-Mohs facial reconstruction, where she restores delicate facial structures with precision, preserving both form and function. With warmth, attentiveness, and close follow-up, she has guided hundreds of patients through their healing journey with outstanding outcomes.
Dr. Ramachandra also provides comprehensive ear, nose, and throat evaluations, treating a wide range of conditions affecting nasal breathing, sinus health, swallowing, sleep quality, and the voice. She performs nasal airway surgery, including septoplasty and nasal valve repair, and offers non-surgical facial rejuvenation with Botox and dermal fillers. Her approach to aesthetic care is conservative and tailored—focused on enhancing natural features. In today’s crowded aesthetic landscape, she offers a grounded, physician-led alternative that prioritizes subtle, natural-looking results. Her goal is to help patients feel more comfortable, refreshed, and confident in their appearance—never overdone.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Ramachandra worked as a design engineer at Stryker, a leading medical device company. This early experience sharpened her skills in surgical innovation, precision, and functionality—traits that continue to guide her approach to both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Ramachandra earned her B.S. in Biomechanical Engineering and her M.D. from Stanford University. She completed both her ENT and facial plastic surgery training at Vanderbilt University, then served as a clinical fellow at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland before relocating to St. Louis.
After moving to St. Louis, Dr. Ramachandra joined a private ENT practice where she developed a strong foundation in general otolaryngology and reconstructive facial surgery. Since 2022, she has been recognized annually by her peers as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. She also worked extensively in a dermatology office performing in-office facial reconstruction after Mohs surgery.
Dr. Ramachandra has worked in a variety of clinical environments—including academic institutions, private practice, and international settings—giving her a broad and adaptable perspective on patient care. Now practicing in a concierge model, she is excited to spend meaningful, unrushed time with each patient to get to the core of their concerns and tailor treatment plans that reflect their unique goals. She lives in St. Louis with her husband—who grew up in the area—their two young sons, and their red golden retriever, Sona.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, attending live music, and designing elaborate Halloween costumes for her kids.
