Restore neurological communication and joint motion while decreasing pain and inflammation with an adjustment.
Balance your body’s internal energy pathways, also known as meridians, with acupuncture. This balance of energy helps reduce pain, nausea, anxiety, insomnia, and so much more.
Chiropractic is often perceived as a pain-relief system, but in reality, is a method of improving neurological communication and reducing general inflammation while promoting optimal biomechanics. Just how you shouldn't wait until your car breaks down to bring it to a mechanic, regular chiropractic maintenance care can help diminish the severity and frequency of spine pain incidents. Maintenance care has been shown to be an effective preventative treatment protocol to help manage long-term or chronic back pain.

Dr. Brian Sylve graduated from Logan University as a board certified chiropractor. He specialized in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care, but quickly found a fascination for acupuncture and Eastern medicine to complement his chiropractic practice. Dr. Brian's journey into his career began after a wrist injury in martial arts when a single adjustment fixed his 6 months of pain.
Under the mentorship of several acupuncturists he developed his unique blend of acupuncture styles including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element Theory, and Taoist acupuncture. Dr. Brian's mission is to offer a holistic and conservative approach to healthcare, rooted in enhancing the body's innate communication systems. Through chiropractic adjustments that restore balance to the body and acupuncture techniques that harmonize the mind, he aims to empower individuals to safeguard and rejuvenate themselves amidst the physical and mental stressors of daily life.
Beyond his practice and martial arts, Dr. Brian can be found outside with his two dogs, embarking on culinary adventures with his fiancé, or curating the perfect soundtrack to life's moments on his ever-expanding playlist.

No MD referral is needed, a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) is a portal-of-entry provider that does not need a referral to be seen.
Chiropractic can treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, including but not limited to: Headaches, neck pain, back pain, hip pain, TMJ/jaw pain, tinnitus, vertigo, joint pain, and plantar fasciitis.
During your initial exam, we discuss your medical history, including any relevant family history or previous treatments. The exam will also consist of some simple movement tests designed to isolate the specific problems and determine the best course of treatment. We then follow up with the first adjustment.
On follow-up visits as determined by your treatment plan, we will assess and adjust various areas of the spine and extremities based not only on your initial complaint, but any complaints that may have arisen since the previous visit. The adjustment will vary based on your individual needs, and can be as relaxed and low-force as needed. You may be given homework via an exercise or stretch, or given advice in regards to ice or heat.
Chiropractic care is generally considered safe when performed by a licensed and experienced chiropractor. However, like any medical treatment or procedure, there are some potential risks and side effects associated with chiropractic care.
The most common side effects of chiropractic care include temporary soreness or discomfort in the treated area, headaches, and fatigue. These side effects are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few hours or days.
More serious side effects of chiropractic care are rare but can occur. These may include herniated discs, nerve damage, and stroke. However, it's worth noting that these serious side effects are extremely rare and are usually associated with pre-existing conditions or underlying health issues. To minimize the risk of side effects or complications from chiropractic care, it's important to disclose any pre-existing health conditions or underlying health issues to your chiropractor before undergoing treatment.
Overall, while there is some potential for risks and side effects associated with chiropractic care, it is generally considered a safe and effective conservative treatment option for many common musculoskeletal conditions.
Chiropractic treatment duration varies person to person, and is often related to how the person takes care of themselves outside of the office. People who are active, who stretch, and focus on posture tend to need less frequent adjustments to keep functioning optimally. Those who sit for a living, or those who do more intense workouts such as running or powerlifting, tend to need more frequent adjustments to keep their joints moving well.
There is research in favor of regular chiropractic adjustments, and research showing no difference in pain levels with maintenance care. Dr. Sylve recommends maintenance care between once and twice a month to ensure no lingering compensation patterns develop. This is especially important in people who do not get enough activity in their everyday lives, or who are prone to overworking themselves.
For acute care, visit frequency is often more aggressive to help us guide the healing process and get you back to your optimal state. Generally a treatment plan will consist of 1-2 times per week for a couple weeks, with treatment frequency decreasing as the condition improves.
The most well-known chiropractic technique involves high velocity adjustments, but Dr. Brian is trained in several other techniques that are slower and gentler.
Acupuncture as a type of energy work can treat a large number of internal imbalances such as: hormone imbalances, anxiety, insomnia, nausea, and some lung-related complaints like asthma. Acupuncture also works well for various types of pain, including: headaches, back pain, muscle pain, neuropathy, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, and TMJ pain.
Treatment duration and frequency will vary greatly depending on the individual and conditions being treated. According to research studies, the optimal frequency of acupuncture treatments for certain conditions may vary.
For acute conditions such as pain or allergies, treatment once or twice per week for a few weeks usually helps to resolve symptoms.
For more chronic conditions such as nausea, insomnia, or migraines, treatment may take several months with follow-up visits common.
For conditions that are impossible to remove the root (back pain due to sitting at work, anxiety based on chemical imbalances, hot flashes due to menopause, etc), or chronic conditions with no known cure, ongoing treatments may be necessary. With these conditions, management of symptoms is the goal.
As preventative care, Dr. Sylve’s goal is to see his patients once or twice per month to catch any small things before they become big things.
During an acupuncture session, your provider will carefully insert the needles into the appropriate points on the body. While generally painless (the needles are about the width of a single hair), some may notice different sensations including a slight tingling or dull ache. The needles are left in place typically between 20 and 30 minutes, while the patient relaxes. Depending on the condition, the doctor may choose to use moxibustion, which is an ancient form of heat therapy using an herb burned over one or more points.
Acupuncture side effects may include tenderness or bruising at the site of insertion. Occasional light-headedness can occur.
Acupuncture is generally considered safe when performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, and side effects are rare. Ask your primary care provider, or reach out to Dr. Sylve if you have any specific questions or concerns.
Acupuncture needles are approximately the width of a human hair. They are generally not painful, though some patients may experience a heaviness or feeling of movement at the site upon insertion. Different places on the body are also more or less sensitive, and if a point is too tender, your acupuncturist may choose to use a different site.
Acupuncture is the use of energy meridians to achieve a specific change internally. Dry needling does not use meridians, and instead focuses on trigger points in muscles to affect pain. Both are highly effective for different conditions.
