Meet Dr. Mehdia Amini

Dr. Mehdia Amini is double board certified in Endocrinology and Internal Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University. She has extensive experience treating a wide range of endocrine conditions, including osteoporosis, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases, diabetes and metabolic disorders. Providing individualized, patient-centered care is at the heart of her practice, working closely with each patient to develop treatment plans that align with their unique needs and goals.

Dr. Amini completed her Internal Medicine residency at UCSF Fresno, where she served as Chief Resident, and went on to complete her Endocrinology Fellowship at Saint Louis University Hospital. She comes from a richly diverse background, having grown up in Germany and lived across multiple continents, and has worked in a variety of professional roles, including as an expert medical consultant. These experiences give her a broad perspective and help her connect with people from all walks of life.

Dr. Amini has contributed to numerous studies and presented her research at national conferences, focusing on diabetes, metabolic disorders, and rare endocrine conditions. What sets her apart is her ability to combine broad clinical expertise with a global perspective and diverse professional experience, allowing her to approach care thoughtfully, creatively, holistically, and with a deep understanding of each patient’s unique story. She is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, The Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Amini is fluent in Farsi, Pashto, and German, with conversational Spanish. She enjoys being in nature, staying active, and exploring new foods and cultures.
